Show Your Love Training Materials

Show Your Love is a national campaign designed to improve the health of women and babies by promoting preconception health and healthcare. The campaign's main goal is to increase the number of women who plan their pregnancies and engage in healthy behaviors before becoming pregnant.

The following slides and life plans are used to facilitate the Show Your Love intervention. Please contact Kellie Teter if you are interested in becoming a facilitator and would like to see a copy of our facilitation guide that accompanies the presentation materials included below. Additionally, please read more about our Training of Facilitators workshop.

Perinatal Periods of Risk: Understanding the Causes of Infant and Fetal Deaths in Denver

The death of an infant or loss of a developing baby is always devastating. Across the United States, black women are significantly more likely than whites to experience the loss of a baby within the first year of life. This is also true in Denver where the ratio of black infant deaths to white infant deaths is two to one.

Denver Public Health is diligently working with community partners to eliminate this disparity, first by better understanding why this difference occurs. The Perinatal Periods of Risk (PPOR) Analysis is a specific technique used to investigate factors associated with both infant deaths (after a live birth) and fetal losses (miscarriages). For more information about our research, read the full perinatal periods of risk analysis, which includes the next steps in how we plan to engage community members in our work.
