To protect our patients, families, employees and the community during the outbreak of COVID-19, Denver Public Health is following Denver Health’s strict NO VISITOR POLICY, restricting visitors at all clinics until further notice with the below exceptions:
  • Adult patients are encouraged to come alone to their appointments, but may be accompanied by 1 person if absolutely necessary
  • No more than 2 children per adult – please do not bring any children to the clinic that are not being treated
  • Family or group sizes can be no more than 4 persons – all persons must be receiving services or care
Currently, the immunization clinic is open but hours may change. In order to limit the time patients have to spend in the clinic, we are scheduling appointments ahead of time and registering you over the phone. Before you visit, please call ahead to confirm hours and schedule your routine vaccines and walk in travel vaccines. Call us at 303-602-3520.

The Travel Clinic at Denver Public Health has a team of nurses, family practice physicians and infectious disease specialists with extensive experience in travel immunizations and travel health. The Travel Clinic is dedicated to keeping you healthy and safe by providing a full range of pre-travel services for international travelers including vaccinations and medical consultations.


The Travel Clinic does not accept health insurance and payment is due at the time of service.

A travel consultation is required for:

  • All prescription medications (Malaria, traveler's diarrhea and high altitude sickness medications).
  • Yellow Fever vaccine (Yellow Fever vaccine cannot be given within 28 days of receiving MMR or Varicella vaccines).
  • Review of your travel itinerary and vaccine recommendations.

Travel consultation appointments are in high demand and fill up quickly. Consider scheduling your appointment at least 8 weeks before your trip.

What immunizations do you offer and how much do they cost?

What if I get sick after I come back from my trip?

If you are ill after your trip (fever, flu-like symptoms or persistent diarrhea) we encourage you to contact your primary care provider for evaluation.

What if I just want shots and don't want a consult?

Prescription medications and Yellow Fever vaccine require a travel consult appointment. All other vaccines are available on a walk-in basis. For walk–ins: you will need to know what vaccines you need when you arrive. Recommendations for travel vaccines require a travel consultation.

Do you give prescriptions for malaria, traveler's diarrhea or high altitude illness?

Yes. Prescriptions are provided with a consultation appointment only.

How long before my trip should I schedule my consultation?

During our busy times consultations may be booked out for 6-8 weeks. We recommend to schedule your consultation as far in advance as possible. For questions, please call our clinic at 303-602-3520.

Will I get reimbursed by my health insurance for travel vaccines and the consultation?

The travel clinic does not bill health insurance plans. However, upon payment you will receive an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance company.
